About Cabair Group
From a take off nearly four decades ago the Cabair Group is now one of the largest
companies operating in the general aviation sector worldwide. We offer commercial
and private pilot training of the highest standards for both FAA and JAA licences.
Our fleet totals over 160 aircraft flying more than 72,000 hours a year in the UK,
Spain and USA. It encompasses state of the art glass cockpit fixed wing and rotary
aircraft and simulators, from trainer to corporate jet.
As a major supplier of quality First Officers and future commanders to international
airlines, our customers include British Airways, Flybe, Ryanair, Air India, Kuwait
Airways, Royal Brunei Airlines and many others of a similar stature.
The Group also provides consultancy, executive charter, Fixed Base Operations (FBOs),
aviation and English language training and testing, pilot assessment and selection
to both civil and military requirements.
We complement these services with aeroplane and helicopter sales and management,
London sight-seeing flights and helicopter visits to schools to educate and entertain
our future pilots - all this supported by our own maintenance divisions.
Cabair works closely with many of the world’s leading airlines to ensure employment
opportunities are available upon completion of training. The list above shows airlines
for whom some of our recent graduates now work. We are also involved in sponsored
programmes such as the very successful scheme with Flybe which offers a partly sponsored
ATPL Integrated Programme and has been running for the last twelve years.
Cabair also works with banks and financial institutions in order to provide funding
solutions for commercial pilot training.
Airline pilot, Commercial pilot& Private pilot training
Within Europe, Cabair has the largest independent group of flying schools for commercial
and private pilots offering consistently high quality training and services throughout.
at Cranfield, 50 miles North of London, has specialised in airline pilot training
for over 20 years and our graduates can be found flying for - or as senior managers
in - airlines around the world. The flagship Integrated course is a substantial
provider of quality First Officers to the industry and is conducted using the most
advanced all-glass cockpit aircraft and simulators in the industry.
South of London at Bournemouth International Airport offers Modular commercial
pilot training. The flexibility of the Modular route to an ATPL allows professional
courses to be completed at various Cabair locations around the globe, yet still
be represented on a graduate’s CV as training from one quality training
provider, a benefit acknowledged by airline recruiters.
Fair weather base options for commercial training are available at our affiliate
organisations at Requena in Spain, and at
various centres in Florida, USA; at Kissimmee with
Orlando Flight Training - the most popular locations, and at
Merritt Island with Space Coast Aviation.
operates eight traditional Private Pilot flying schools in the UK specialising in
both fixed wing and helicopter, and offering a range of products from one-off flights
to Private Pilot Licences, additional ratings and Flight Instructor courses.
For some years Cabair have been working closely with several universities and colleges
in developing unique degree courses which integrate commercial pilot training with
an academic qualification.
Buckinghamshire New University offers two different Degree courses, both with commercial
pilot training included.
The first option is a 3 year BA (Hons) in Air Transport which is coupled with a
Modular training programme to gain an Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence through
Cabair. The second option is the same degree but it can be completed within eighteen
months and in conjunction with an Integrated Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence programme
at CCAT which involves flight training taking place in the UK, Spain or Florida.
Kingston University’s Faculty of Engineering offers a Foundation Degree in Aviation
Studies with an optional one-year or part-time BSc (Hons) in Aviation Studies. It
provides an option to gain an Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence as an integrated
part of the course, and is proving extremely popular with students who very much
enjoy the basic flying training in Florida.
London’s City University offers a BSc (Honours) course in Air Transport Operations
combined with an Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence (ATPL). Students can undertake
the Honours degree and combine it with either an Integrated ATPL programme at CCAT,
Cranfield, or with a structured Modular ATPL programme at EPTA in Bournemouth.
The third year of the degree is ‘part-time’ allowing students to begin working within
the industry as commercial pilots at the same time as completing their BSc.
